YOUTH LOGO CONTEST!

The Middlebury and Southbury Equity and Inclusion Council is inviting all youth residents (ages 3-18)  of Middlebury and Southbury to participate in a contest to design a novel, creative, and innovative logo to represent their committee.

The Middlebury and Southbury Equity and Inclusion Council includes multiple members and organizations of the local community whose mission is to inspire, encourage and respect all aspects of diversity.

The purpose of the logo is to visually represent the mission and vision of the Middlebury and Southbury Equity and Inclusion Council.
The contest winner will be selected by the members of the Middlebury and Southbury Equity and Inclusion Council. Logos will be judged based on relevancy and alignment with the theme and mission of the Council, have recognition potential, originality, and aesthetic. All logos submitted must fit within a 6 inch diameter circle.
The contest is open until April 22, 2022. Submissions can be emailed as a .jpg or .pdf attachment to thearts@region15.org. 
The youth who creates the winning design will be recognized and receive a prize. The winning logo will be announced via the Middlebury and Southbury Equity and Inclusion Council website and Region 15 website and social media. Winners are expected to be announced by June 1, 2022.
Logo submissions must be the student’s own original work. Incomplete, unreadable, unintelligible or otherwise non-compliant submissions will be disqualified. By entering the competition the submitter grants the Middlebury and Southbury Equity and Inclusion council the rights to use the design for the benefit of the committee.

Logo Technical Information:
Each candidate may submit one logo with the below technical features:
  1. The logo should be in color; clever use of colors is preferable!
  2. The logo must be legible in all sizes. When reduced in size and for larger formats, such as posters, electronic formats and websites
  3. Create balance: Remember - your logo will be viewed by the community!
  4. Submitted logos must be original artworks, created solely for the Middlebury and Southbury Equity and Inclusion Council
  5. Submitted logos must work primarily on white backgrounds 
  6. Submitted logos must include the phrase “Middlebury & Southbury Equity and Inclusion Council.”
  7. Logos must fit within a 6 inch diameter circle.
The winning logo should be aligned with the mission of the Council and exemplify:
  1. Relevancy: Submitted logos must be aligned with the theme and goal of the Middlebury and Southbury Equity and Inclusion Council 
  2. Have recognition potential!
  3. Originality: Must exhibit originality, creativity and imagination
  4. Aesthetic: Submitted logos must command attention displaying visual balance, color coordination, be appealing to the eye and look unified.
  5. Technical features: Fulfill technical information above and be functional.

Other:

  1. Contestants must be a resident in the towns of Middlebury or Southbury between the ages of 3-18. (Contestants do not need to attend Region15 Schools)
  2. Contestants may enter 1 design. In order for your entry to be reviewed, it must be submitted directly to the Region 15 Art Department at thearts@region15.org before April 22, 2022 at 11:59pm.
  3. The logo designs must be original work.
  4. Incomplete, unreadable, unintelligible or otherwise non-compliant submissions will be disqualified.
  5. The winner will be selected by members of the Middlebury and Southbury Equity and Inclusion Committee.
  6. By submitting a design, contestants agree that the Middlebury and Southbury Equity and Inclusion Committee may publish their logo and that their name will be announced as the winner. Contestants assign all ownership rights, including all intellectual property rights for the logo, to the Middlebury and Southbury Equity and Inclusion Committee. Additionally, Middlebury and Southbury Equity and Inclusion Committee may alter, modify, or revise the logo as it sees necessary. Middlebury and Southbury Equity and Inclusion Committee reserves the right to not select a winner if, in its discretion, no suitable entries are received.
